Tips for Parenting with Love and
Logic
Raising children
is never a certainty, and you can never really be sure
of the best way to raise them is. Over the years
there have been theories developed to guide in
raising your children, an each theory gives you
different aspects of child rearing to think
about.
One key principal to keep in mind is to use both love and
logic as a parent. When it comes down to analyzing these
different theories of parenting, that is the common demominator
in them all.
How To Do
It
As a parent trying to achieve balance between love and
logic, keep in mind two fundementals. Number one is
love.
Being a loving parent is one of the best gifts you can give
your child. In any activity or interaction with the
child, such as discussions with them, when helping them with
large or small problems, love should always be shown and be
obvious to the child.
Showing a child respect is a great way to demonstrate to a
child that you love them. In this way you serve as a role model
for them, and teach them to reciprocate with respect toward you
and towards others as well.
Logic
The
other important aspect of parenting is
demonstrating that you approach situations not only with
love, but with logic as well.
For example, if you must punish your child, make sure that
the punishment fits their misdeed. If you can establish a
logical link between the punishment and the misdeed, this
is an example of parenting with love and logic.
Being able to logically come to decisions about punishment
and restrictions will make you a better parent and create an
atmosphere of fairness in your relationship with the child.
